Cannes, France

Our first stop was here in beautiful Cannes, France. (click pictures to view larger)
We took these lovely tenders into the port and were greeted with a red carpet to walk once we arrived.
Here are mom and dad on the ship before heading into the city.
We spent the day just walking around the town seeing the sights, we were excited to see where they hold the film festival each summer.
The harbor was filled with boats large and small, really a beautiful place.
We passed by this old hotel that was so neat to see.
Here we have our video guys Dad and Brett.
We found this cute street with shops that headed down to the beach.

Here is our wonderful ship the Brilliance of the Seas.
This carousel was right by the beach and had all different types of cars and animals on it.
Here is where the film festival is held every year. Around the outside of the building are celebrity hand prints.

We stopped and had crepes at a little stand on our way back to the ship. They were very yummy!

Cute little gazebo by where we ate lunch.
The view is of a fort on top of the hill.

After a very long walk and something to eat we headed back to the ship and did some swimming. It was a great first day.

More to come soon!

Get Ready for a Ton of Pictures!

So here is the beginning of our Europe trip! Get ready to be overloaded with photos this week!
We landed in Barcelona, Spain and headed right to the ship. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to walk around the city at all so there are only a few pictures from this wonderful place.
I went to the top of the ship after we ate some lunch to take these pictures of the city. These are looking towards the old part of town.
In this photo above you can see the church La Segrada Familia.
An old fort that was on the hill near the ship.
And here are the people we traveled with, our friends and we are planning out our trips for the next two weeks!
We were all very tired so we went to take naps before dinner and then had an early night to get rested up for Cannes, France.

Finished a project finally!

Finally, after what seemed like forever I finished a knitting project! These socks were fun to make and I am still in love with the color yellow right now. Perfect for all of the gray days we have been having here.
And they have this great cable detail up the sides, which was a lot of fun to do!
Have a great weekend everyone!

New Camera!

I got a new camera yesterday and I am in love! I got a Canon SX200 IS and it is great so far. I needed a new one for Europe next week. My old camera decided a few months ago that it was tired of taking pictures, it wanted to grow up to be a video camera only. I was able to get it to take pictures eventually but last weekend it decided to have nothing to do with photos, so I got the new one. Then of course the old one has now decided to take pictures again!

Anyway, with going to Europe next week I wanted something with a better zoom than my old camera and boy did I get it. See this picture of the playground across the street was taken at full zoom!
And here is the same park with no zoom, so cool right!
This camera also has a Sunset setting on it!!! One of my favorite things to take pictures of are sunsets so it is like this camera was made for me! Well now it's off to do some cleaning and preparing for my trip, more great pictures soon!
