A Few Layouts

I have been making some layouts that I wanted to share here on the blog. This first one was using the Roller Rink kit from Studio Calico. I have been lazy on the whole printing pictures thing so I pulled out some from collage that I had not scrapbooked yet.
This next layout is from the Sock Hop kit from Studio Calico. I got a bunch of my Great-Grandmother's photos and I have been slowly scrapbooking those. This photo of my Mom's family is so fun, I had a great time making this layout.
Time to get some more pictures printed!

Project Life Week 4

Week 4! I had a few more photos this week so it was fun finding ways to make it all fit.
This week was all about the weather, it was cold and snowed a bit.
I was listening to an interview of Lena Dunham and loved those two quotes, I knew I had to include them this week. My friend Jen also had her book signing this week, so much fun!

Here are Weeks 1, 2 & 3 for 2013 if you are looking for more.

I have a class this Wednesday at Craft Fancy called Card Creations and I wanted to share the cards that we will be making in class. Lot's of spring colors this month, I am so ready for spring to get here!

This quilt block card might just be my favorite this month.
If you are in the area I would love to have you in class!

Project Life Week 3

Week 3 of project life is finished! This week I had enough photos for a two page spread. In addition to the seafoam project life kit, I used papers from the January card kit from Studio Calico. The colors worked wonderfully together.

A few close ups for the week. I love how the wood veneer cameras and arrows add something fun to the paper and washi tape.

Week 3 is in the books, on to week 4!

Sock Yarn Shawls

My super talented friend Jen just got her first book published! She has been designing knitting patterns for a few years now and decided she wanted to write a book and made it happen. Sock Yarn Shawls is now available for purchase, if you are a knitter or know a knitter you are going to want this book. So many beautiful patterns!

I was so excited to help Jen out with knitting a sample for the book. A few months ago she emailed me and said that the shawl I knit was going to be on the cover! I am still super excited about this, it's so cool to look at the cover and think, "hey, I made that!"
My name is even in the back of the book, so fun!
You can buy Jen's book online here or ask for it in your favorite yarn store!

Project Life: Weeks 1 & 2

This is my second year doing project life and I love it so much. I didn't really post about it on the blog last year but I love that it is a place for everyday stuff. I love looking through the album from last year and seeing what went on. I still have from October - December of 2012 that I need to finish up, but that didn't stop me from getting started on 2013.

Last year I created my own version of the project with stuff from my stash and page protectors that I found. This year I am using the Seafoam kit as well as mixing in my own stuff. The first two weeks I didn't take a lot of photos after being on vacation so I combined them into one spread.

Here is a look at each of the first two weeks on their own.
The first side is all about New Years Eve and New Years Day at Disneyland. Once we got home I didn't really take pictures the rest of the week so having once side worked out well for me. I used the "for the record" card to add some details in from the week that I didn't have pictures for. I am trying to take better notes throughout the week and have more journaling than I did in my 2012 albums. So far I like how it is working out.
Week 2 was getting back into the swing of things and I didn't take that many pictures this week either. I am loving having the kit to use this year. At first I was worried about using it with my supplies but I have been having fun matching things and making each week look different.

Are you doing project life this year? I would love to hear what's working for you!
