Travel Mini Book Class

I am a huge fan of making Mini Books. I love to put together books before we go on trips. It is a great way to have all of your memories and things like tickets and brochures all in one place, so all you have to do is print out pictures when you get home and you are done!

So this month I decided to share my love of travel mini books with the folks at Craft Fancy with a class on Tuesday, June 29th. Here are some photos of what we will be making:
The travel line from American Crafts was perfect for this project. I designed the album with 7 pages for journaling/attaching pictures to, but you can always add more if you are going to be on a longer trip.

Along with pages for journaling I also added a few mini envelopes to hold tickets or other items you collect on your vacation.

I love how this book turned out, and if you are in the area and would like to make one, spaces are still available, just contact the store to sign up!

Summer in Mini Book Form

This will be my second attempt at a Summer mini book. I did one last year that held mostly tickets from things we went to and a few photos. My hope for this year's book is that it ends up looking a little cleaner.

So here is the start of my Summer book. I used my favorite month stamps from Studio Calico to create the cover and the dividers for each month.
For each divider I stamped the pennant banner stamp from one of the June add-ons from Studio Calico. I seem to be using this stamp on everything lately!
I stamped on some paper that I had to fill in pieces of the banner.

So far I love how it is looking, I just hope I can keep up with it better this year!

Back tomorrow with some photos from the weekend, hope you are having a wonderful Monday!

More Cards!

Blogging two days in a row might be sort of a new record for me! I wanted to share some cards for the A Muse card class I am teaching next Monday at Craft Fancy. I was really excited for summer this month and wanted the cards to show that.

Red and blue just seemed like the right combo this month!

I love the new cloud paper from A Muse, super cute!

Spaces are still available for the classes, so if you are in the area I would love to have you join us!

Oh Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I had one filled with movie watching and eating too much birthday cake and popcorn! My Mom's birthday was on Friday so we celebrated by going out to dinner and the movies. Above is the birthday card I made for her.

I had some time yesterday to do a little bit of scrapbooking and I made this page for a challenge one of the lovely Studio Calico members came up with. The challenge was to do something on a page you had never done before. I chose to use a big, bold pattern as my background and here is what I came up with:
It was really a challenge for me, but I loved the paper and found these pictures that were perfect for it. It also got me really excited for my trip out to Disneyland in a few weeks!

Today I have been busy making some layouts and getting some other things done around here. I am also trying hard to finish a baby blanket I am making for my friend Jen, it is almost finished! Will share once it is all done.

I hope that tomorrow it will not rain so I can take some pictures to share some more projects!

June Already?!

I can't believe that it is June already, and not just June, the second week of June! If someone finds out where the last two months went, I would love to know.

I finished all of my class samples for the month (finally on top of things for once!) so I thought I would share some of my layouts I have been making at home recently.

I made this one yesterday and had such a blast doing it! It was fun to not worry about how it would look in the end, to just cut and paste and I love how it turned out.
The next layout was a lot of fun too. As soon as I saw this picture online I thought about translating it into a layout. I have been wanting to do a layout about my favorite shoes right now and came up with this:

Another one where I just had fun playing with paint and paper. I think those always turn out to be my favorites, where I just have fun and don't think about it too much!

Hope you all are having a great week so far!
